Residents, relatives and staff at Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together for a wonderful day of connection and activity during their much-anticipated Sports Day Fun Event, held on Friday 18th July. The event was designed to bring people together, foster team spirit, and celebrate the joy of movement and togetherness across the entire care home community.
Planned collaboratively during a staff meeting, the day featured a whole-team approach with sports-themed games, light-hearted competitions, and plenty of opportunities for fun. From cheering spectators to active participants, everyone played their part.
Home Manager Dani shared that she “really enjoyed this day; it was full of team spirit and working together. I am really proud of our home and team.”
The atmosphere throughout the event was electric – full of laughter, joy and a sense of camaraderie. One of the highlights was seeing the residents’ reactions, as the activities brought back fond memories of their younger days.
Residents were delighted with the activities, with Keith chuckling, “Oh wow, the staff can run! I used to run too.” Meanwhile, family members watching on were equally thrilled, describing the event as “fantastic!”
This Sports Day at Park View was more than just games – it was a celebration of community, wellbeing, and the special bonds shared by everyone at the home.
