On the 12th of November, residents and Lifestyle Coordinators from Mulberry Court, part of the Runwood Home group, joined their friends at Warblers & Wobblers for a delightful trip to Poplars Garden Centre in Toddington, Bedfordshire. The outing was part of an ongoing collaboration with Warblers & Wobblers and included several other local care homes.
The day was filled with festive cheer as everyone explored the centre’s enchanting Christmas displays, getting into the holiday spirit with some early Christmas shopping. The atmosphere was magical, with twinkling lights, beautifully decorated trees, and a wonderful selection of festive goods. After shopping, the group enjoyed a lovely lunch in the centre’s cosy café, where everyone relaxed and shared stories of their experiences.
This trip was especially meaningful for the residents of Mulberry Court, many of whom have fond memories of visiting Poplars Garden Centre regularly, particularly those with a passion for gardening. The centre’s welcoming environment, charming decorations, and warm hospitality, including their renowned cup of tea, made the outing truly special.
For the residents at Mulberry Court care home, trips like these are essential. Not only do they offer the opportunity to get out into the local community, but they also allow for the continuation of cherished traditions. Many of the residents have visited Poplars over the years, and this trip provided a wonderful chance for them to reconnect with a familiar and beloved spot.

“I absolutely adore this place, they put on a really good Christmas scene, and I have been buying a Christmas bauble for my tree for nearly 40 years, so I’m glad to be able to continue doing this.”
