Alcester Firemen visit the residents at Four Acres care home in Studley

Residents at Four Acres care home in Studley, invited the local Alcester fire station to provide an educational, informative session on fire safety, fire alarms and fire drills.

Arranged by the Deputy Manager, Claire with Alcester Fire Station, the crew organised a discussion on fire safety and the importance of keeping safe.

Bob, James, Martin and John informed residents of what they must do in the event of a fire and the weekly fire alarm tests that are carried out by the team at the care home.

Residents at the care home were also given a tour of the fire engine.

One resident said: “I really enjoyed this morning. Very informative. I wish they could have stayed all day.’’

Diane Wood, Wellbeing Lead at Four Acres, said:

‘’What a brilliant idea by Claire our Deputy Manager to have them speak to our residents. It’s great to see that residents are involved in what is going on in their home and its lovely to get the feedback and opinions of residents too. ‘’
