Bramwell Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group hosted a Valentine’s Day Party with live music from the Silver Strummer Ukulele Band. The room was decorated with red balloons and heart streamers, creating a cheerful and festive atmosphere. Residents, families, friends, and staff enjoyed lively tunes, delicious cake, and drinks while celebrating togetherness.
Resident Caroline shared, “It was a fabulous afternoon.”
Mable Joloza, Home Manager, said, “The party brought everyone together, creating happy memories and sharing the spirit of Valentine’s Day in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.”
The celebration is especially meaningful for residents who may feel lonely or separated from loved ones. It reinforces feelings of love and belonging, boosts mood, and creates a sense of connection. The idea came from a Dementia Champion meeting, focusing on familiar traditions and positive experiences rather than just the date itself.
