Bramwell Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, held a heartwarming Sponsored Walk from the home to Toton Nature Reserve covering a distance of 12 miles. The event brought together residents, staff, and families in a joint effort to raise funds for the residents’ activity fund, ultimately raising an impressive £378.
Home Manager Mable Joloza shared,
“At Bramwell, we are committed to ensuring our residents enjoy a high quality of life, dignity, and emotional wellbeing. Engaging activities play a vital role in reducing loneliness, boredom, and depression. Events like this not only help raise necessary funds, but they also show our dedication to going above and beyond for those in our care.”
The idea for the walk stemmed from the ongoing need to fund various resident activities and outings. As Mable explains,
“Each time we plan an event or a trip for our residents, we require funding to make it possible. This walk was a proactive way to ensure those experiences continue.”
The atmosphere on the day was electric, with participants from residents to local supporters united in a shared purpose.
One touching highlight stood out for many:
“The most memorable moment was seeing our residents and their families walking alongside our staff. That moment truly embodied the spirit of Bramwell,” Mable said.
The community echoed this sentiment, with one family member commenting,
“Wow! What superstars and wonderful people to give up their free time and raise money for the residents’ activities that they care for. Fantastic amount of money raised. Well done to you all and thank you.”
Bramwell Care Home continues to champion initiatives that bring joy, enrichment, and connection to the lives of its residents.
