Braywood Gardens care home, part of the esteemed Runwood Homes group, transformed into a vibrant cultural hub on 18th November as staff and residents came together to celebrate International Food Day.
The special event showcased the rich diversity within the Braywood Gardens community, with staff members proudly donning traditional attire from their home countries and preparing a variety of authentic dishes. The culinary experience offered residents a chance to sample flavours from around the world, many of which they had never encountered before.
Jeffrey Ford, Senior Home Manager at Braywood Gardens, expressed his delight with the event, saying:
“It was great to celebrate diversity amongst the staff and residents. Seeing everyone in traditional dress and making so much effort with their home-cooked dishes was amazing. It truly was a great day had by all.”
Residents and staff were thrilled by the opportunity to explore different cuisines and learn about the unique cultural backgrounds of their caregivers. The dining area was filled with laughter and conversation, as the shared experience of food brought everyone closer together.
International Food Day at Braywood Gardens highlights the importance of fostering an inclusive and culturally rich environment where residents and staff can connect and celebrate their heritage.
