Residents and staff at Braywood Gardens Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, took to the streets of Carlton on 17 February to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day by sharing thoughtful goodie bags with members of the local community.
The initiative, titled Random Acts of Kindness in the Community, saw residents and team members come together to prepare and distribute small gifts to local people, brightening mornings and sparking meaningful conversations along the way.
The idea was inspired by Random Acts of Kindness Day itself, with the home keen to mark the occasion in a way that reflected its values of compassion, connection and community spirit.
Speaking about the event, Leanne, Senior Customer Relations Manager, said:
“It is so important to spend time in the community, showcasing the great work that the home is doing locally whilst giving back.”
Residents and staff spent the morning delivering the handmade goodie bags throughout Carlton, enjoying warm interactions and friendly chats with members of the community and local businesses. The atmosphere was filled with positivity, smiles and a shared sense of purpose.
The event highlights Braywood Gardens’ ongoing commitment to building strong community links and demonstrating the positive impact care homes can have beyond their walls. By engaging directly with local people, the home continues to show not only the high-quality support it provides, but also its dedication to giving back and making a difference.
