Residents of Brewster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed an exciting and engaging exercise session led by Rachael from Essex Motivator, a project inspired by the legendary Mr. Motivator. Taking place on 6th February, the event brought together residents, their families, and staff for a joyful and interactive fitness experience.
The session, held in the home’s conservatory, featured full-body movements set to lively, familiar music, encouraging everyone to sing along while staying active. The goal was to promote mobility, prevent falls, and make exercise enjoyable for all participants.
Leoni, Lifestyle Coordinator at Brewster House, praised the event’s success. “It is fantastic to be able to bring someone so experienced in to encourage movement, and it was so lovely to see so many family members join in,” she said.
Residents expressed their delight at the initiative. John, a resident, shared his enthusiasm: “I had an amazing time. It’s wonderful bringing everyone together. There is something for everyone to do in each movement.”
The idea for the session originated when Home Manager of Brewster House, Jenna, was introduced to the programme. Recognising the importance of exercise in daily routines, the team sought a fun and inclusive way to keep residents engaged and active.
The atmosphere during the event was vibrant, with smiles all around. Families and residents alike bonded over the shared experience, making it a truly communal activity. Notably, some residents who were previously hesitant about exercising attended as spectators but gradually joined in, embracing the fun and movement.
The positive feedback was overwhelming, and excitement is already building for Rachael’s return in two weeks. Events like these highlight Brewster House’s commitment to enhancing residents’ well-being through creative and enjoyable activities, proving that staying active can be both beneficial and entertaining.
