Residents at Brewster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a wonderfully creative and seasonal afternoon on 8th October 2025, as they welcomed back Carole from Rainbow Creations for a pottery painting session, this time decorating delightful pumpkin tea light holders just in time for autumn.

The activity aimed to encourage creativity, connection, and fun among residents.

Staff enjoyed seeing the different designs the residents came up with and watching them concentrate so hard, then smiling when they saw their results.

The session took place in the activities room, which was transformed into a mini art studio where residents could paint their own ceramic pumpkins to display in their rooms, making their space feel more personal and festive.

This is the third time Carole from Rainbow Creations, a local business run from her home, has visited Brewster House. After Leoni, Lifestyle Coordinator at Brewster House, discovered her work through a Facebook post, she reached out to invite Carole in, and the response from residents has been overwhelmingly positive each time.

“I love painting,” said Sonia, a resident. “I had a lot of fun and would like to do more!”

The atmosphere during the event was warm and lively, with plenty of chatter, laughter, and focus as residents expressed their creativity. One standout moment was Carole taking the time to chat with everyone individually, explaining the pottery process and answering questions which sparked even more interest and engagement.

This type of activity gives residents a chance to be creative, socialise, and create something meaningful for their rooms. Brewster House always enjoys and encourages visits like this and look forward to many future events.
