Meet Our Home Manager

Vickie Walker

Hi, my name is Vickie, I have worked in care for just over 20 years, I first started in care after caring for my Nan, after she had passed away I realised not everyone was in a position to care for their loved ones and I wanted them to feel reassured that I would look after them like I looked after my Nan. I have three children, twin boys now 29, and a daughter now 19, and four grandsons, who are the lights of my life, I even delivered one of them, (so I could be a midwife too) My hobbies are reading, days in the countryside relaxing, and spending time with my grandsons and family. I have been with Runwood for nearly two years, and I love the family feel of Rowena House.

At Runwood Homes, we offer a full food and dining menu consisting of breakfast, lunch and dinner along with snacks to suit all dietary requirements. For residents requiring textured food or modified food, rest assured that your loved one’s needs will also be catered for. We take into account meal preferences from each resident in our care and aim to provide their favourite meals that they are used to.

Activities & Events

Your loved one will benefit from a dedicated Lifestyle Coordinator within the home; they will organise and encourage social interactions with a range of engaging activities. The Lifestyle Coordinator will create an activity calendar taking into account your loved one’s interests and varying needs. Activities may include music and singing sessions, arts and crafts, bingo, baking and visits to outside attractions etc.
