Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was transformed into a scene straight out of Hollywood on Friday 25th July, as residents, staff, and families gathered for a dazzling Summer Screen Soirée, a themed cinema experience packed with vintage glamour and fun.
The event featured a beautifully decorated cinema room complete with nostalgic movie posters, twinkling lights, and a vintage-style photo booth. Staff embraced the theme by dressing as iconic film characters, creating a red-carpet atmosphere that had everyone smiling from the moment they entered.
“It was lovely seeing staff in costumes, everyone was lovely and I liked the photoshoot,” shared resident Eunice, who was one of many to enjoy posing with accessories like feather boas, hats, and oversized glasses.
Residents were treated to a classic black-and-white film accompanied by timeless performances from well-known singers, bringing a touch of nostalgia and elegance to the experience. The immersive setting, lively music, and interactive activities encouraged residents to get involved and enjoy the afternoon in full.
The idea for the event came from Head Office, inspired by a twist on a summer cinema theme. The team at Chelmunds Court brought it to life with creativity and care, transforming their cinema room, organising entertainment, and helping residents enjoy every moment.
From laughter at the photo booth to dancing in costume, the Summer Screen Soirée was a magical afternoon that residents and their loved ones will treasure.
