Residents from Chelmunds Court, part of the Runwood Homes group, had a wonderful opportunity to experience the arts up close on 14th February, when they attended a dry rehearsal by the talented performers of Lawrie School of Dance, hosted at Bishop Wilson Primary School.
The visit gave residents the chance to engage with the local community, enjoy live performances, and experience the energy and creativity of the rehearsal. Staff from Chelmunds Court supported residents throughout the visit, ensuring everyone could fully enjoy the performances and the lively atmosphere.
The idea for the visit came after Lawrie School of Dance kindly invited Chelmunds Court residents to watch their rehearsal, giving them the opportunity to see the dancers’ hard work and talent up close. The event also highlighted the importance of inclusion, connection, and enjoyment beyond the care home setting.
The atmosphere during the rehearsal was described as uplifting and welcoming, with residents smiling, engaged, and delighted throughout. Staff and performers alike were pleased to see such positive interaction and shared enjoyment between the residents and the local community.
