Connie and Ray: A Love That Grew From Friendship

Connie and Ray

Connie and Ray’s story is one of connection, companionship and enduring love. Now, residents at Oldfield House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, their relationship began years ago through a simple introduction – Ray was friends with Connie’s brother – and over time, friendship gently grew into something deeper.

The couple have shared many happy years together, built on laughter, kindness and mutual support. Ray is known for his strong sense of humour, bringing joy to those around him, while his calm and steady nature offers reassurance and comfort. Connie describes him as ‘very good’ and ‘calm’.

Looking back on their journey together, Connie speaks fondly of the life they have built, describing their time together as the best years they have shared. At Oldfield House, Connie and Ray continue to enjoy each other’s company, surrounded by a caring community where their bond and story are warmly celebrated.

This heartwarming story is being shared as part of Runwood Homes’ company-wide initiative, Valentine’s Takeover at Runwood Homes – a special week dedicated to celebrating love in all its forms, from friendship and companionship to kindness and care across Runwood Homes communities.
