Leawood Manor Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group was delighted to welcome volunteers from CRA Experian for a special Volunteering Day on 10 December 2025, bringing festive cheer, creativity and companionship to residents.

The day focused on spending meaningful, quality time together, highlighting the importance of community connections within care homes. Residents, staff and volunteers came together for a Christmas-themed craft morning, creating homemade crackers, table favours, Christmas cards and festive stockings ready to hang. The home was filled with laughter, conversation and creativity, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the morning.

In the afternoon, volunteers and residents joined Leawood Manor’s choir practice, rehearsing for the upcoming Carols by Candlelight event. Singing together provided the perfect end to a heartwarming day of shared experiences and social interaction.

Days like this play a vital role in enhancing residents’ wellbeing, offering opportunities for companionship, engagement and fun, while strengthening relationships between the care home and the wider community.

“We had a wonderful day with the volunteers from CRA Experian. The aim was simply to spend meaningful time with our residents, encourage social interaction and have lots of fun together, and that’s exactly what we achieved. The joy, laughter and creativity throughout the day were truly heartwarming, and experiences like this make such a positive difference to our residents,”
said Sue Bekhet, Lifestyle Co-ordinator at Leawood Manor.

One resident, Eleanor, also shared her enjoyment of the day, saying she had a wonderful morning meeting new people, chatting together and taking part in the activities.

Leawood Manor would like to thank CRA Experian and their volunteers for their time, kindness and festive spirit, which helped create lasting memories for residents and staff alike.
