Elizabeth House, part of Runwood Homes Group celebrated the festive season with a series of unforgettable Christmas parties on the 19th of December 2024. Organised by Karen, the dedicated Wellbeing Lead at Elizabeth House, the event brought together residents, their families, and staff for an afternoon filled with music, dancing, and holiday cheer.
In a thoughtful gesture to ensure everyone’s comfort, the celebrations took place on each floor, allowing residents to enjoy the festivities in their familiar lounges. The afternoon was alive with performances from a fantastic line-up of entertainers: Hadleigh Choir serenaded the Poppy First floor, Marcus Brown brought his charm to Poppy Ground, Sam Sheridan captivated Bluebell First, and Paul, affectionately known as Elvis, lit up Bluebell Ground.
After the singers’ mesmerising performances, the celebrations shifted into full party mode. Elizabeth House’s residents and families enjoyed lively music, dancing, and a feast of delicious food and drink. Party poppers added an extra touch of fun, filling the air with laughter as everyone got into the festive spirit.
Karen, the Wellbeing Lead at Elizabeth House, shared her reflections on the day:
“The residents were so happy not to have to move floors and were able to just enjoy the party in their lounges. It was a fantastic day full of laughter and big smiles. The residents thought it was over after the singers, but we said, ‘No, it’s now party time,’ and they all cheered. We had food, drinks, and party poppers, which the residents loved making a mess with!”
The event proved to be a resounding success, with heartfelt feedback from those who attended:
Elizabeth House’s resident Dorothy, expressed her delight, saying, “Best day ever! I enjoyed the day so much, and I loved Sam Sheridan. I didn’t want the day to end.”
Garry, a resident at Elizabeth House, shared an emotional moment, saying, “The choir was so lovely, and it moved me to tears as the songs they sung were mine and my partner’s favourite songs. I went over and saw the fantastic Elvis and had the time of my life.”
This festive celebration not only brought holiday cheer to Elizabeth House but also highlighted the importance of creating meaningful and joyful experiences for residents, fostering a sense of community and happiness. The event will undoubtedly be cherished by all who attended.
