Highview Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, hosted a beautifully curated Afternoon Tea event that brought residents and their loved ones together in a luxurious, hotel-style setting in the care home itself.
The residents and their families all agreed that it was a lovely event, admiring the amount of effort that went in to make it such a welcoming experience. One family member commented that:
“The lifestyle coordinator did an amazing spread, and it truly felt like we were in a hotel.”
The event welcomed residents and their relatives to share a happy afternoon, complete with hand-made desserts and sandwiches, elegantly served on three-tier cake stands. Each table featured individual place names and was set to the sounds of gentle music, creating a serene yet fun atmosphere.
The idea stemmed from a desire to reconnect families in a meaningful way.
“We wanted to bring the families of our home together with some elegance,” said Lisa, Senior Home Manager.
The afternoon proved to be a special moment of connection and celebration, allowing residents to feel dined on and cherished. One of the standout highlights was the personal touch added by the lifestyle coordinator, who hand-prepared all the food, adding warmth and authenticity to the occasion.
“It gave the residents a chance to spend time with their families and friends, and to feel truly special,” Lisa added.
The event not only reinforced Highview Lodge’s commitment to meaningful engagement but also left guests feeling uplifted and closer to their loved ones.
