Four Acres care home, part of the Runwood Homes Group has been buzzing with festive cheer this December, thanks to two heart-warming events that brought together residents, staff, and the local community.

Christmas Meal at Nosh and Natter Club on 9th December

On Monday, 9th December, Four Acres residents enjoyed a festive outing to the local Nosh and Natter Club. This popular event takes place on the first Monday of every month at the Entaco Social Club and provides an opportunity for residents to meet up with local villagers.

The afternoon began with a delicious three-course Christmas meal, including prawn cocktail to start, a traditional turkey dinner, and a festive Christmas pudding to finish. Entertainment was provided by the talented singer Rays, who performed Christmas classics, and Santa and his elf made a surprise visit to spread even more holiday joy. Residents and staff joined in with a merry sing-along, creating lasting memories and strengthening connections within the community.

Kayleigh Hobbis, Lifestyles Coordinator at Four Acres, commented, “We had a lovely morning. It was good to get out in the community, get into the Christmas spirit, and enjoy seeing all the friends from the village.” For Four Acres, events like these are important, offering residents the opportunity to connect with familiar faces and embrace the festive spirit with old friends.

Christmas Fayre on 14th December

In addition to the Christmas meal, on Saturday, 14th December, Four Acres also hosted its much-anticipated Christmas Fayre, inviting the local community to join in the festive spirit. Over 10 talented crafters showcased their original work, with a variety of handmade gifts perfect for holiday shopping. Guests were treated to a fun-filled day with a tombola, raffle, mulled wine, and mince pies.

The event raised funds to support the home’s residents, allowing for extra treats and future trips out. The fayre was officially opened by Jennifer Stone from Aunty Jen Productions, and the day proved to be a lovely social occasion for residents to pick up gifts for their families and friends.

Resident Julia at Four Acres shared, “I thoroughly enjoyed today, doing some shopping and chatting to everyone.” The event was a beautiful celebration of the season, strengthening the bond between Four Acres and the local community.

Both the Christmas Fayre and the Nosh and Natter meal highlight Four Acres’ commitment to fostering community connections. These events not only bring joy and laughter to residents but also create opportunities to share the holiday season with others in the local area. Four Acres is proud to be a part of such a supportive and engaged community, and the team looks forward to many more events like these in the future.
