IMG 20250925 114704 Manager Frank FosterFrank Foster House Care Home, part of Runwood Homes Group, proudly joined the nationwide celebration of Arts in Care Homes Week by showcasing the creativity of its residents in a special in-house art exhibition.

Over recent months, residents have taken part in a wide range of artistic activities, including painting, drawing, collage, and crafts. These sessions, delivered as part of the home’s holistic approach to care, have supported self-expression, cognitive stimulation, and social connection. The resulting artworks were displayed throughout the home, transforming communal spaces and bedrooms into vibrant galleries that reflect the personalities and stories of those who live there.

“Art has such a positive impact on our residents’ lives,” said Nicholas Kee Mew, Home Manager at Frank Foster House. “It not only brings joy but also encourages self-expression, enhances wellbeing, and strengthens community connections within the home.”

The exhibition highlighted how creative activities enrich daily life in care. By engaging in the arts, residents experience reduced stress and anxiety, improved memory and focus, and meaningful opportunities to connect with others. For many, art provides a valuable outlet for sharing emotions, memories, and personal stories, while also making the home environment more colourful, welcoming, and truly their own.

Resident Peter summed up the experience simply: “I enjoyed painting and I am proud to show my painting.”

At Frank Foster House, the arts are not just a pastime but a vital part of everyday life, supporting the mental, emotional, and social well-being of residents in ways that are both powerful and lasting.
