Residents and staff at Frank Foster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together to celebrate Chinese New Year with a vibrant and joyful event filled with culture, learning and community spirit.
The home was transformed with colourful fan decorations as residents enjoyed a festive party featuring delicious food, horoscope readings and a relaxing Tai Chi session. The celebration offered everyone the opportunity to experience traditional customs and embrace the spirit of the Lunar New Year.
A special highlight of the day was a cultural talk delivered by Nicolas, originally from Mauritius with Chinese heritage, who shared fascinating insights into the origins of Chinese dragons and the meaningful tradition of red envelopes. His stories added depth and understanding to the celebrations, sparking conversations and fond memories among residents.
