Residents from Frank Foster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a special day out at Colchester Zoo on 6th February, fulfilling a long-held wish for one of their residents.
The trip was particularly meaningful for resident Carlo, who had expressed his desire to visit the zoo once again. Reflecting on the experience, he shared, “I enjoyed the zoo visit and seeing the gorillas. I went there a few times with my daughter when she was young.”
Lifestyle Coordinator Dilip, who accompanied the residents, described the day as “amazing.” He added, “It was wonderful to visit the zoo with the residents and make Carlo’s wish come true.”
The outing provided a fantastic opportunity for residents to connect with nature, reminisce about past experiences, and enjoy a change of scenery. These trips play a vital role in enhancing well-being, social interaction, and personal fulfilment for residents.
