Residents at Frank Foster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, marked the 4th of July with a vibrant virtual tour of the United States that brought the sights and spirit of the nation to life right from their lounge.
As part of the home’s ongoing Tour Around the World series, the event offered residents a rich cultural experience, exploring famous landmarks, learning about key moments in U.S. history, and sharing personal reflections.
Resident Maureen, reflecting on her travels, said:
“I visited America before, and I love it there.”
Another resident, 99-year-old Rebecca, shared her thoughts on the immersive experience:
“It’s a great opportunity to discover America. I’ve never travelled there, but today, I feel like I did. The staff made a lot of effort, from the chef to the whole team. Thank you.”
The day included themed food, music, and an engaging Independence Day quiz, where residents showcased their knowledge of American history and culture. Music and dancing followed, creating an uplifting and enjoyable environment for everyone involved.
