Residents and staff at Brewster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were treated to an afternoon of music as Emily Gibson, a talented young performer currently studying theatre, delighted everyone with a special performance.

Leoni, Lifestyle Coordinator at Brewster House,  said:
“It is so great to have Emily Gibson come and sing for us. Emily is studying theatre and will no doubt have her name in lights one day.”

The atmosphere was filled with energy as residents joined in, singing and dancing to Emily’s performance. Many stayed afterwards in the conservatory, chatting about the afternoon.

Resident Hazel Richards shared:
“It was so nice to see Emily, she is so lovely and made me want to dance straight away.”

The event came about thanks to Emily’s aunt, Hillary, who volunteers at the home every Tuesday to run the knitting club. Hillary first introduced Emily to the home over a year ago, and since then she has become a much-loved guest performer.

Leoni explained the importance of these events:
“Music speaks to the soul and brings people to life through something that seems so simple but has such a deep effect on everyone. We love how much music matters to the residents, so making sure we have wonderful singers like Emily here is an absolute must as often as possible.”

A highlight of the afternoon came when Emily shared how much she loves visiting and seeing the residents so happy, a sentiment echoed by everyone present.

The performance was another shining example of how music continues to enrich life at Brewster House Care Home.
