A very special dog show took place on the 6th of September at Liberty House care home in Doncaster.
Family members, staff, managers, and the residents came together to participate in this delightful event, which proved to be a resounding success in boosting the wellbeing of everyone involved.
The event featured a charming line-up of seven dogs, each with their own unique personalities and talents. Skye, Teddy, Phoebe, Buddy, Henry, Chewy and Gizzy showcased their delightful qualities, capturing the hearts of all in attendance.
Residents gathered to watch the dog show, and the joy on their faces was clear to see. Interacting with the dogs, whether through petting, playing or simply watching them perform, provided an invaluable boost to their overall wellbeing.
The judging panel for this heart-warming dog show included residents and Care Team Leader, Nic. They had the challenging task of selecting winners from the 11 categories, which ranged from “Gives the Best Paw” to “Prettiest Eyes.” The competition was fierce, as each dog demonstrated their special skills and charms.
Each category winner received a prize, and there were 11 of these prizes to go around. The gifts were tokens of appreciation for the participants, acknowledging their efforts in making the event a success.
The pinnacle of the day was the prestigious “Liberty’s Top Dog” trophy awarded to the “Best in Show.” After careful consideration, Phoebe emerged victorious, stealing the hearts of the judges with her undeniable charm.
Amanda, newly appointed manager at Liberty House, said: “It was a wonderful day and a well organised event. The residents, families and everyone involved had a fantastic time and I’m looking forward to the future and further events.
