Residents at Leawood Manor Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were treated to an afternoon of laughter, colour and classic British entertainment when a lively performance of Jack and the Beanstalk took place on 23 November 2025.
The much-loved pantomime was brought to the home by professional performers from Razzle Dazzle, who delivered an interactive and energetic show for residents, supported by Leawood Manor staff. From familiar catchphrases like “He’s behind you!” to cheerful sing-alongs and comedic moments, the performance encouraged residents to join in at their own pace, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
The event played an important role in supporting residents’ wellbeing. Laughter and shared enjoyment helped lift spirits, reduce feelings of loneliness and strengthen social connections. The traditional elements of pantomime also sparked memories and engagement, supporting both emotional and cognitive wellbeing. By bringing this much-loved cultural tradition into the home, residents were able to feel connected to the wider community while enjoying a special break from daily routines.
Sue, Wellbeing Lead at Leawood Manor, said:
“It was wonderful to see so many smiles and hear the laughter during the pantomime. Events like this mean so much to our residents. It’s not just about entertainment, but about creating moments of joy, connection and shared memories that really brighten their day.”
Leawood Manor regularly hosts engaging activities and events to enhance residents’ quality of life, ensuring meaningful experiences remain at the heart of daily care.
