The Runwood Ramblers, a walking group at Liberty House, have taken their daily strolls to the next level with a new eco-friendly initiative: ‘Going Green’ with Liberty’s Litter Pickers. This inspiring initiative combines the joy of walking with a commitment to keeping the local community clean and green.
The impact of the initiative has not gone unnoticed. During a recent walk, a kind gentleman from the community expressed his admiration: “It’s a pleasure to see you all out in this beautiful weather, you staff members do an extraordinary job.’’ He then treated all of the Runwood Ramblers to ice creams — a gesture that deeply touched the Liberty House residents involved.
From laughter and singing to friendly chats with local residents, the outings are a highlight of the day for many residents. The initiative not only contributes to a cleaner environment but also boosts social engagement and wellbeing for residents.
