On 3rd January, Loganberry Lodge care home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently hosted a heartfelt event, bringing residents and staff together to create stunning floral centrepieces in memory of their receptionist Ann’s late mother.
After Ann’s mother sadly passed away before Christmas, she donated the flowers from her funeral to the care home, asking if they could be used to create something meaningful. The idea inspired Lifestyle Coordinator Charley Barnard and the team to organise a flower-arranging activity for the residents.
“Our lovely receptionist Ann asked if we could use the flowers in her mum’s memory, and the residents loved the idea,” Charley explained. “It wasn’t just about making beautiful arrangements—it sparked wonderful conversations about our loved ones and cherished memories.”
Residents and Lifestyle Staff at Loganberry Lodge, spent the afternoon carefully crafting centrepieces that now brighten various spaces throughout the home. The activity brought a sense of joy and reflection to all involved.
“The atmosphere was absolutely lovely,” Charley shared. “There was a real buzz around the home as residents and staff shared stories and memories while working together to create something special.”
The event not only fostered creativity but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of community and shared connections. It offered residents the opportunity to open up about their own families and treasured moments.
The idea was born from discussions with residents, many of whom agreed that flower arranging would be a fitting tribute. The completed centrepieces now serve as lasting tokens of love and remembrance, adding a personal touch to the home’s decor.
Loganberry Lodge’s dedication to creating meaningful activities for its residents continues to shine through initiatives like this, which bring comfort, connection, and beauty to their community.
