Residents at Loganberry Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a fun and energising Aqua Fit session on 20 January 2026, taking part in a private pool experience designed to support both wellbeing and enjoyment.

Four residents, supported by two staff members in the pool, attended the session at a local swimming pool that had been privately hired for the occasion. The session included gentle stretching, swimming, and plenty of light-hearted moments, with residents even enjoying a singalong and dance in the water.

Naomi, Lifestyle Lead at Loganberry Lodge, commented:

“Aqua fitness offers multiple physical, mental, and social benefits for elderly residents in care homes, making it particularly suitable for people with mobility issues, chronic pain, or balance concerns.”

Residents were full of praise for the session, highlighting the fun and welcoming atmosphere. Glenda shared, “This is such great fun, thank you so much for including me,” while Vee added, “Are we coming back? I’d love to. This is wonderful.”

Aqua fitness is particularly beneficial for older adults, offering low-impact exercise that supports mobility, balance, and strength, while also promoting mental wellbeing and social interaction. The fun, light-hearted, and engaging atmosphere made the session a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Loganberry Lodge remains committed to providing innovative and inclusive activities that enhance residents’ quality of life and encourage active, joyful living.
