Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, welcomed residents, families, and staff to its much-anticipated annual Summer Party, which this year featured a vibrant carnival theme.
Guests enjoyed a range of classic garden games including hook-a-duck, bean bag toss, and hoopla, while children were treated to a piñata bursting with sweets. The event also included live entertainment from singer Mark James, whose performance had residents and staff dancing along throughout the afternoon. A raffle proved hugely successful, raising an impressive £112.
Adding to the fun, staff joined residents in lively group dances to the YMCA and Cha Cha Slide, creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere. One of the highlights of the day was when Longview’s Deputy Manager took part in a pie-in-the-face challenge, much to the delight of everyone watching.
Lifestyle Team member at Longview Care Home, Jessica Glennerster said:
“It’s so important to host events like this that residents and families can look forward to. They provide precious opportunities for loved ones to spend time together and create lasting memories.”
Family members also expressed their gratitude, with Lisa Green, daughter-in-law of two residents, describing it as:
“Such a lovely morning, thank you for organising the summer party for the residents and their families.”
The atmosphere was filled with fun and togetherness, making the Summer Party a truly memorable occasion for all who attended.
