Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, held a delightful Open Day on Saturday 2nd November, inviting friends, family, and members of the local community to celebrate recent refurbishments and enjoy a day filled with entertainment and refreshments. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for the public to explore the newly renovated areas of Longview, including the upstairs lounge diner, reception, and entrance, and to spend quality time with the residents.
Guests were treated to Prosecco, nibbles, and cupcakes, while live entertainment was provided by the talented Julie Jive. The residents were in high spirits, dancing and singing along to the lively tunes. The event saw the participation of a wide range of individuals and groups, including the lifestyle staff, management, district nurses, doctors’ surgery, first responders, head office, and the local Mayor.
Claire, Home Manager at Longview Care Home, expressed her appreciation for the event, saying, “It was a fantastic day and an important one for us at Longview. It gave the public a chance to experience our refurbished home, meet the wonderful staff, and enjoy some quality time with our residents. The day truly highlighted our commitment to providing a comfortable and lively environment for everyone in our care.”
Barry, a resident at Longview, also shared his enjoyment of the event: “I had a great time dancing to the music, and my mum even joined me to enjoy the party. The home looks fantastic – the staff and builders have done a grand job!”
The Open Day was a true team effort, with all staff members coming together to create a welcoming atmosphere for the residents and visitors. It was a celebration of Longview’s dedication to providing a nurturing environment where both residents and their families can feel at home.
