80s5 Wellbeing longviewLongview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was transported back in time as everyone came together to celebrate a lively 1980s-themed party. The event featured live entertainment from one of Longview’s regular performers, Tracey Lea, alongside vibrant decorations, a delicious buffet, and a raffle prize of champagne.

Jessica Glennerster, Lifestyle Coordinator at Longview, said:
“It’s so important for our residents and families to have special events to look forward to each month. Themed parties bring everyone together, spark joy, and create lasting memories.”

The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was described as “absolutely buzzing”. Carron, CTL at  Longview, shared:
“The party was amazing, it was so lovely to see everyone getting involved, dancing and singing along. The staff made such a great effort with their costumes, they looked like they had stepped straight out of the 1980s!” 80s1 Wellbeing longview

There were plenty of standout moments, including Home Manager Vivian’s grand entrance in a glittering disco outfit, complete with wig and handlebar moustache, much to the delight of residents and families. Another highlight was the presentation of flowers and chocolates to Lifestyle Team member Frankie Anderson, in recognition of the excellent feedback she has recently received from relatives.

The 1980s party is part of  Longview’s ongoing commitment to organising themed events every few months, each designed to encourage community spirit, and reflect the vibrant lifestyle at the home.
