Residents at Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently gathered for their much-loved monthly church choir session, an event that brings joy, faith, and a sense of community to all who take part. The latest session took place on 25th February, in Lounge 6, where 18 residents, family members, and members of the local church choir came together to sing traditional hymns.
The choir visits have been a long-standing tradition at Longview Care Home, offering residents the opportunity to practice their faith through song while also strengthening their ties to the local church community.
One resident, Margaret, shared her appreciation for the event, saying, “I love coming to the church choir. My daughter joins me, and we always have a nice time singing the hymns.” The sentiment is echoed by many, as the gathering creates a cheerful and uplifting atmosphere that residents eagerly anticipate each month.
The highlight of the session was the joyful rendition of ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful,’ a favourite among the residents, which filled the room with smiles and warmth.
Jessica, Lifestyle Coordinator at Longview, emphasised the importance of these gatherings: “It’s so important to allow our residents to continue practicing their faith while enjoying the communal experience of singing. The choir sessions also help maintain a strong link between our home and the local church.”
With each session bringing happiness and connection, the monthly church choir remains a cherished tradition at Longview Care Home, offering residents the chance to express their faith, reminisce through song, and share joyful moments with loved ones.
