Alexandra House care home, Runwood Homes group, recently marked two very special occasions – Valentine’s Day and the home’s 17th Anniversary – with heartwarming celebrations bringing residents, families and staff together.
Residents and their families were invited to enjoy a Valentine’s lunch together, creating precious moments and ensuring that all residents felt included and valued. The celebrations continued with a lively anniversary and Valentine’s party, complete with delicious food and drink and live entertainment from singer Paul.
One resident delighted guests by saying, ‘I used to love singing when I was younger, not bad for a 105-year-old’ before taking to the microphone for a truly unforgettable performance.
Paul, the live singer, shared his appreciation, saying, ‘Thank you for letting me celebrate your Valentine’s and 17th anniversary, Ada. Your singing was amazing’
A standout highlight of the celebrations was the home’s remarkable 105-year-old resident, who sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley at the microphone.
The events truly reflected Alexandra House’s commitment to creating inclusive, joyful experiences and strengthening the bonds between residents, families and staff.
