Love, laughter and the smell of freshly baked treats filled the air at Maun View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, as residents, relatives and staff came together from 9th to 15th February to enjoy a special “Week of Love”.
The Valentine’s-themed week was designed to fully immerse residents in the celebrations, with a variety of meaningful and engaging activities taking place each day. Festivities began on 9th February with heart-shaped pizzas for National Pizza Day, setting the tone for a joyful week.
Residents enjoyed decorating heart-shaped biscuits, making puff pastry parcels and creating jammy dodger cheesecakes alongside the kitchen team. Valentine’s bingo added a fun twist to the home’s coffee morning, while a flower arranging session saw residents craft beautiful bouquets. Handmade Valentine’s cards were also created and shared with loved ones. The week concluded with a lively Valentine’s party on Friday evening, bringing everyone together for music, laughter and companionship.

Here at Maun View we love to put on themed activities and get our residents involved in everything that is happening in the calendar year. We love to celebrate every event that happens throughout the year. We love to see our residents happy, smiling and full of laughter.”
The “Week of Love” was carefully planned by the Wellbeing Team in partnership with the kitchen team to ensure residents of all interests and abilities could take part. For the team, celebrating key events throughout the year plays an important role in supporting wellbeing, encouraging reminiscence and helping residents feel connected to the world around them.
The atmosphere throughout the week was warm and joyful, reflecting Maun View’s ongoing commitment to helping residents live happy, fulfilling lives.
