Maun View Care Home part of the Runwood Homes Group, has launched a heartfelt new initiative for 2026, focused on making residents’ wishes come true, no matter how big or small. The project, led by the wellbeing team and supported by all staff, aims to ensure that every resident living at Maun View Care Home has the opportunity to make a wish, with the team working together to turn those wishes into reality.
Sandra, Lifestyle Coordinator at Maun View, said:
“It’s great to hear the residents’ wishes, and it’s important to the wellbeing team and all the staff at Maun View to be able to make their wishes come true. No matter how small, we always aim to make our residents happy.”
The initiative will run throughout the whole of 2026, with residents encouraged to make as many wishes as they like. The wellbeing team and wider staff group are committed to fulfilling every wish wherever possible, creating moments of joy, comfort, and meaningful experiences for residents.
Already, several wishes have been brought to life. One resident, DP, dreamed of having lots of chocolate and was taken to the kitchen to choose her favourite chocolate bars. Another resident, HH, wanted plenty of reading material, so staff took him to the Maun View library to select books to enjoy in his room. Resident JA wished for a special photo of herself and her husband, who also lives at Maun View, to display in her room. Meanwhile, resident AG wanted to have lots of colouring to do, leading staff to gather her previous colouring sheets, provide a new colouring book, and set her a February challenge to colour as many Valentine’s pictures as possible in an attempt to break a record.
The idea for the project came from a lifestyle coordinator regional meeting, inspiring the team to place residents’ wishes at the heart of daily life at Maun View and other homes in the Runwood Homes Group.
The programme highlights Maun View’s commitment to resident wellbeing, happiness, and person-centred care.
