Residents and staff at The Mill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, got into the Halloween spirit with a week of themed activities, arts and crafts, and a spooky Halloween Tea Party held on 30th October.

Throughout the month, residents worked together to create handmade decorations and even took trips out on the minibus to choose extra spooky décor and pumpkins from a local garden centre. The creative sessions built up to a fun-filled afternoon featuring Halloween-themed treats, music, and games.

The Mill House’s talented chef prepared a variety of delicious Halloween goodies, while residents enjoyed making and decorating their own cupcakes. The tea party included themed music, films, quizzes, and a lively round of Pin the Hat on the Witch, which proved to be a big hit!

Residents and visitors shared their delight, saying:

“Wow – the Mummy pizzas look great!”
“I love the decorations, especially the ones we made together.”
“The Pin the Hat on the Witch is great – what a fun idea!”

Emma, Lifestyle Co-ordinator at The Mill House, said:

“It was such a fun and creative way to celebrate together. It was a great opportunity to use activity sessions for a collective project for the end result of the wonderful, themed tea party.”

The atmosphere at The Mill House throughout the celebration was described as fun, relaxed, and sociable, with residents enjoying every moment of the spooky festivities. The themed food was a standout success, receiving plenty of smiles and compliments from everyone who attended.
