Residents, staff, families, and local visitors gathered for a fantastic Summer Fete at The Mill House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, all in support of the home’s activities and amenities fund.
The event was a resounding success, raising £700 to support meaningful and engaging experiences for residents.
The day was packed with something for everyone, including cake stalls, handmade crafts by residents, a plant stall, classic fete games, an insect zoo, and live singers. Every corner of the event was filled with connection, pride, and a shared commitment to enriching the lives of residents.
Emma Binks, Lifestyle Coordinator at The Mill House, shared her pride in the day’s success, noting how the whole team came together to plan and deliver such a special event for the home.
Visitors and participants were equally enthusiastic. A family member commented, “What a wonderful day! It’s great that so many people came !” A resident shared their excitement, saying, “This is wonderful, so many lovely things to see and do.” Members of the local community also expressed their appreciation, with one noting, “Well done for all that you have done and congratulations for raising such a great amount.”
The idea for the Summer Fete came from group discussions between staff and residents, reflecting a shared goal of building community relationships and raising funds in a fun and inclusive way. The atmosphere was described as happy and lively.
