Mulberry Court care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, proudly hosted their annual Summer Fete on the 24th of August. Despite an unexpected deluge, the event proved to be a resounding success, filled with Hawaiian-themed fun and community spirit.
The Summer Fete took place in the garden and Fresa day room, offering residents, staff, and families a chance to come together for a day of enjoyment and camaraderie. The event featured a lively barbeque, Hawaiian-themed games, and dancing, all set against a backdrop of persistent rain. Participants embraced the weather with enthusiasm, donning colourful costumes and engaging in spirited activities.
A notable highlight was the performance by singer David, who serenaded attendees throughout the rain, adding a special touch to the festivities. The fete not only created cherished memories but also succeeded in raising £240 for the amenities fund, supporting further enhancements at Mulberry Court.
Marcel, Domestic Assistant at Mulberry Court, commented, “The fete was so much fun to be a part of, and the smiles on the residents’ faces made being soaked by the rain all worth it!”
A resident’s family member shared their appreciation on Facebook: “Congratulations to you all for all your hard work staff and residents and family for making such a great day in spite of the weather.”
The Mulberry Court Hawaiian Summer Fete exemplified the spirit of community and resilience, demonstrating that with a positive attitude, even inclement weather cannot dampen a good time. Mulberry Courts extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and supported the event, making it a memorable and successful day for all.
