Residents at Mulberry Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, embraced the benefits of gentle exercise on 22nd February, as they took part in a Positive Movement session using resistance bands. The activity, led by Lifestyle Coordinators Kirsty and Karen, was designed to promote physical well-being in a fun and engaging way.
With exercise playing a key role in reducing the risk of major illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, the session encouraged residents to stay active while enjoying a relaxed and social atmosphere. “We have been trying to find fun ways to exercise without it feeling too regimented,” said Kirsty, Lifestyle Coordinator at Mulberry Court.
The morning was filled with smiles and laughter, as residents supported and encouraged each other throughout the exercises. The sense of camaraderie was a highlight of the session, with many participants commenting on the strong bonds they have formed within the home.
“It was wonderful to see how much enjoyment everyone got from the session,” Kirsty added. “The ladies have built such a fantastic sense of community here at Mulberry Court, and it really shone through during this activity.”
With the success of this event, staff plan to continue incorporating fun, low-impact exercise into the home’s regular schedule, ensuring residents can stay active while enjoying time together.
