Nicolas Kee Mew, home manager of Foster House Care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious MBCC Awards in the category of Social Campaigner of the Year. This recognition highlights his exceptional contributions to charity work, particularly in the areas of Alzheimer’s research and dementia awareness.
Nicolas has long been dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by dementia. Over the past decade, he has worked tirelessly to raise awareness and funds for various charities, including Alzheimer’s Research UK. While he has slowed down his pace recently, he continues to participate in at least one charity event each year. Running, volunteering, and fundraising have become an integral part of his life, making him a strong advocate for those in need.
The MBCC Awards, established in 2016 as a non-profit organisation, were created with the sole aim of recognising individuals and organisations who have made a significant impact in both business and the broader community. The awards focus on recognising those who selflessly dedicate their time and energy to helping others, without seeking praise or recognition in return. Through these awards, these remarkable individuals are celebrated for their extraordinary contributions to society.
Since its inception, the MBCC Awards have grown in stature and now attract over 450 guests annually, with nominations spanning across the UK. It has firmly established itself as a key event in the country’s annual calendar.
The MBCC Awards ceremony will take place at Frank Foster House, where a wide range of finalists, including Nicolas, will be honoured for their outstanding work. As a finalist for Social Campaigner of the Year, Nicolas will be celebrated for his commitment to promoting dementia awareness and supporting related charities.
This recognition is important as it serves to highlight the crucial work being done in raising awareness of dementia and supporting essential charities. By celebrating those who are working on the frontlines, it brings visibility to the causes that need it most while encouraging others to follow suit in making a positive difference.
“I am incredibly happy and humbled to be a finalist for the MBCC Awards,” said Nicolas Kee Mew. “It’s an honour to have my work recognised, and I am especially grateful to all those who voted for me. While I’ve always believed in doing this work for the cause, it’s a wonderful surprise to see my name on the finalist list. I look forward to celebrating with my colleagues at Frank Foster House and continuing our efforts to support dementia charities.”
