Oldfield House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with festive cheer on 16 December 2025 as residents, families, visitors, and members of the wider community came together for a Christmas Market and Party held within the home.
Bringing the Christmas market indoors transformed Oldfield House into a joyful seasonal gathering. Festive vendor stalls, live music, and the excitement of a raffle and tombola created a lively and welcoming atmosphere, allowing residents to enjoy the magic of Christmas in a safe, familiar setting. Families and visitors were warmly welcomed, making the celebration even more meaningful and inclusive.
A special highlight of the afternoon was a live performance by Chris Barton, whose trumpet rendition of Silent Night, Holy Night set a beautifully peaceful tone. As residents joined in singing, the room was filled with warmth, emotion, and togetherness, a truly moving moment that captured the heart of Christmas.
The event received wonderful feedback from those who attended. One volunteer said:
“Brilliant Christmas party! Residents and visitors loved it! Well done to all those involved and who made it such a success!”
A visitor added:
“It was a great afternoon.”
The daughter of a resident shared:
“Great to see mam up and dancing. Thanks to all the staff for all your care and attention.”
Oldfield House would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the family members, volunteers, performers, and generous donors whose support made the event such a success. Their involvement helped create a festive celebration full of joy and connection for everyone involved.
