Residents and staff at Oldfield House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were delighted to welcome the Longtoft Primary School Choir on 15 December 2025 for a special Christmas carol performance that filled the home with festive cheer.

The sound of Christmas truly came alive as pupils from the local primary school, accompanied by their teachers, visited the home to sing a selection of much-loved Christmas carols. Residents gathered to enjoy the performance, which created a warm and joyful atmosphere and sparked fond memories of Christmases past.

One resident shared their thoughts, saying:
“I really enjoyed the children singing. It brought back memories when mine were little and did Christmas shows in school.”

A member of the community also commented:
“It was wonderful to see the children engaging with the residents.”

Rozalia, Lifestyle Coordinator at Oldfield House, said:
“Welcoming Longtoft Primary School Choir into our home has become a Christmas tradition. These visits bring so much happiness to our residents and create a beautiful connection between generations.”

The visit highlighted the importance of intergenerational activities, which help lift residents’ spirits while teaching children about kindness, community, and the value of shared experiences. The atmosphere throughout the performance was heart-warming, serving as a reminder that the festive season is even brighter when generations come together.
