Residents and team members at Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently came together to celebrate St David’s Day with a lively morning filled with decorations, activities and traditional Welsh treats.

The celebration took place on 1 March 2026, when residents gathered on the floor for a special themed morning organised by the home’s lifestyle team. The event featured colourful daffodil decorations, colouring activities themed around St David, a visit to the unit by team members, and the chance to enjoy delicious Welsh cakes together.

Residents spent the morning colouring flowers and St David-themed pictures, sharing stories, and enjoying a cheerful sing-along that brought everyone together.

Bridie, Lifestyle Coordinator at Park View, said:
“We celebrated St David’s Day and had a wonderful celebration. It was lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves and taking part in the activities together.”

Alicia, Deputy at Park View, added:
“The day was wonderful and we are delighted to see different cultural events being celebrated. St David’s Day is a special day.”

Family members also praised the event and the atmosphere created by the team. One resident’s wife shared:
“It was lovely to see everyone celebrating together. The decorations and activities were beautiful — thank you for making it so special for the residents.”

Celebrating cultural events throughout the year is an important part of life at Park View. Activities like this help residents stay engaged, encourage social interaction, and bring a sense of togetherness within the home.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing residents smiling, enjoying the activities, and sharing the moment with friends and staff, a reminder of the joy that simple celebrations can bring.

The event forms part of the home’s ongoing commitment to recognising cultural traditions and creating meaningful experiences for residents throughout the year.40a0f58f 5611 46b8 bc1b fef5e4484f6e 36af118a 124e 4fd3 b9d4 a4b1dc412b92
