Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, brought energy, enthusiasm and teamwork to the end of January as residents and staff came together for a sponsored treadmill challenge to boost wellbeing and raise funds for the home’s Residents’ Fund.
The event, which took place on 28 January 2026, saw residents and team members take turns throughout the day on a specially arranged treadmill.
The idea for the challenge was developed by Bridie from the Lifestyle Team, who organised the event and arranged for the treadmill to be brought into the home. The initiative aimed to beat the January blues by encouraging movement, promoting physical and mental wellbeing, and bringing the community together for a positive cause. Families also showed their support through donations.
Bridie, Lifestyle Co-ordinator at Park View, said:
“We’re incredibly proud of our team and residents for completing the treadmill challenge and coming together in such a positive way. The energy and enthusiasm on the day was fantastic.”
Alicia, Deputy Manager at Park View, added:
“Our treadmill challenge was a fantastic success, and I’m incredibly proud of everyone who took part. The commitment and team spirit shown by staff and supporters were truly inspiring. Most importantly, the funds we raised will help us continue providing meaningful activities and special moments for our residents. It was a wonderful event that brought everyone together for a great cause, and I’m grateful to everyone who contributed.”
Residents thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the day’s activities. David, a resident at Park View, shared:
“I really enjoyed being part of the treadmill challenge day. It was lovely to see everyone working together and having fun.”
The atmosphere throughout the event was energetic, fun and focused, with strong teamwork from staff supporting residents every step of the way. A standout highlight of the day was the dedication shown by staff in ensuring the event was inclusive, engaging and enjoyable for everyone involved.
The treadmill challenge is just one of many initiatives at Park View designed to promote health, wellbeing and togetherness within the home.
