Loganberry Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was filled with smiles, laughter, and warmth on 11 January 2026 as residents enjoyed a special visit from a much-loved four-legged guest during a pet therapy session affectionately titled “Peppa Pug Loves a Hug.”

The visit was organised by Naomi Cranmer, Lifestyle Lead at Loganberry Lodge, who brought in her family dog, Peppa the Pug, to spend time with residents throughout the home. Peppa visited every lounge and bedroom, ensuring that all residents had the opportunity to enjoy her gentle nature and friendly companionship.

The visit created a joyful and relaxed atmosphere, with residents delighted to spend time fussing over Peppa, sharing stories, and enjoying the comfort that animal interaction brings. Many residents expressed how meaningful the experience was for them.

Hazel, a resident at Loganberry Lodge, said:
“Thank you so much for bringing this absolute sweetheart in, this has truly made my day!”

Another resident, Caroll, added:
“This is my favourite day ever, I love dogs.”

Pet therapy plays an important role in supporting residents’ emotional wellbeing. Interaction with animals can reduce feelings of isolation, encourage social engagement, and create a sense of comfort and connection. For residents living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, animal visits can help reduce agitation while promoting calmness and positive interaction. Even short visits are known to improve mood and emotional wellbeing, making experiences like this incredibly valuable.

The visit from Peppa the Pug was a memorable highlight for residents and staff alike, leaving a lasting impression and reinforcing Loganberry Lodge’s commitment to providing meaningful, person-centred activities that enhance quality of life.
