Puppy Visit Brings Joy to Residents at Liberty House

Caldwell Grange 3

Residents at Liberty House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, were delighted by a heartwarming visit from Daisy, a 14-week-old cocker spaniel puppy, who spent time spreading joy, comfort, and companionship throughout the home.

The special visit took place on 28 March, with Daisy making her way around the home so residents could enjoy gentle cuddles and meaningful interaction.

Kelley, Lifestyle Coordinator at Liberty House, said:
“We absolutely loved having a visit from Daisy. To see the residents’ faces light up with delight from such a small puppy was amazing to see.”

The visit sparked fond memories among residents, many of whom reflected on their own experiences with pets. Yvonne, a resident, shared:
“Daisy was such a good girl. She settled in my lap and snuggled under my chin. I loved having dogs when I was young.”

Margaret, also a resident, added:
“What a delight it was to see and have cuddles with Daisy. She was so adorable and so soft, I could have held her all day.”

The atmosphere throughout the home was filled with warmth, smiles, and affection, as residents connected not only with Daisy but also with one another through shared conversation.

Animal visits like this play an important role in enhancing wellbeing, encouraging reminiscence, and creating meaningful moments for residents. The visit from Daisy is a wonderful example of how small interactions can have a big impact, bringing comfort, happiness, and a sense of connection to daily life at Liberty House.
