Tallis House Care Home, part of Runwood Homes Group, hosted its annual 60s Summer Fete, bringing everyone together for a fun day. The event featured a variety of activities, including stalls, a raffle and tombola, food vendors, a bar, a live band, and even a Shetland pony for attendees to enjoy.

A highlight of the fete was the performance by seven residents from the WE CAN Choir, who delighted the crowd with their singing. The community and visitors were particularly impressed by the choir’s performance and the energetic live band.

Lifestyle Co-ordinators at Tallis House Rachel Brownlie and Clare Sambrook ,said the fete created a wonderful atmosphere:
“It was fun, energetic, and magical. Residents and families danced and enjoyed themselves immensely. It’s so rewarding to see the community come together and share these special moments.”

Residents shared their excitement, commenting that they had been looking forward to the fete and enjoyed seeing families with their children dancing, singing, and celebrating together.

The annual fete is an important tradition for Tallis House Care Home, providing an opportunity to strengthen community ties, create fond memories for residents, and raise funds to enhance amenities within the home.

Volunteers from the community, alongside the home’s Manager and Deputy Head, helped make the day a memorable success, ensuring that everyone had a fantastic time.
