It was a warm atmosphere at St. Andrew’s as residents from Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, and Saxon Court joined members of the local community for a special Afternoon Tea Party. Hosted in collaboration with both care homes, the event was a wonderful celebration of friendship and community spirit.
The venue provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxed afternoon of tea, cakes and music. Residents, staff, and guests came together to enjoy the charming ambiance.
Organisers and care staff played a vital role in bringing the event to life, decorating the venue, serving refreshments, and most importantly, encouraging social interaction among residents. Their support helped make the gathering an inclusive and heartwarming experience for all involved.
Joan S, a resident, shared her thoughts on the day:
“It was absolutely lovely and I enjoyed the day. I had fun interacting with everybody.”
This event was the result of ongoing collaboration between Chelmunds Court and Saxon Court, with a shared vision of fostering deeper community connections and giving residents the opportunity to engage beyond their familiar surroundings. Afternoon tea was chosen as an inclusive and calming way to bring people together and it was a great success.
