Residents and staff at Liberty House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, got into the spooky spirit this week with a fun-filled Halloween-themed arts and crafts session on 6 October 2025. The event brought together residents and staff for a relaxed and joyful afternoon of creativity, conversation, and nostalgia.
Lifestyle Coordinator, Kelley, shared,
“Halloween is my favourite time of the year and I love getting residents involved in seasonal activities. It gets us all reminiscing about our past Halloween times.”
Residents decorated ghost-themed crafts and autumn-inspired acorns to hang on the Liberty House‘s seasonal tree, transforming the space into a cozy and festive Halloween corner. The activity sparked many conversations and happy memories.
Resident, Brian, commented,
“I have really enjoyed decorating these Halloween crafts for our seasonal tree.“
The arts and crafts session was not only a chance to decorate but also a valuable opportunity for residents to socialize and engage in a meaningful activity. Staff highlighted the importance of such sessions for improving motor skills, boosting self-esteem, and encouraging social interaction.
“The atmosphere was calm, relaxed, and filled with laughter,” said Kelley. “Just seeing our residents socializing, reminiscing, and laughing brought smiles to all our faces.”
This creative event was part of the Liberty House‘s ongoing commitment to promoting well-being and resident engagement through seasonal activities.
