Residents of Alexandra House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, had an exciting day out at their local bowling alley, followed by a hearty lunch.
For many, it was their first time trying tenpin bowling and it was a hit.
“What a fantastic day out,” said one resident. Another, aged 88, shared, “I have never been bowling in all my 88 years and I really enjoyed it… and the big pepperoni pizza too!” A fellow resident added, “I used to play boules with my wife, this brings back memories.”
The outing brought out a fun and competitive spirit, with plenty of friendly rivalry.
Lucy and Jo, Lifestyle Coordinators at Alexandra House, explained that the idea came from residents who had enjoyed playing a bowling game within the home and wanted to try the real thing. The trip not only provided a fun challenge but also encouraged residents to get out into the community, try something new, and make wonderful memories.
