Residents at Rose House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a refreshing and uplifting community walk as part of the Runwood Ramblers – Stepping Out for Wellbeing initiative, highlighting the importance of staying active, connected, and engaged with the local community.
The walk, which took place on 28 January 2026, saw residents venture into Armthorpe village, enjoying the fresh winter air and stopping at the local church along the way. The outing provided a meaningful opportunity for gentle exercise, social interaction, and connection with familiar community spaces.
The Runwood Ramblers initiative forms part of a wider commitment to keeping residents active and engaged. Designed to encourage regular movement, fresh air, and meaningful outdoor experiences, the programme supports mobility, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and social connection.
The atmosphere during the walk was warm, relaxed, and uplifting, with residents chatting together, enjoying the crisp air, and taking in the familiar sights and sounds of village life. From the gentle toll of church bells to friendly waves from local villagers, the experience created a strong sense of belonging and community connection.
Rose House remains committed to providing enriching activities that promote independence, wellbeing, and happiness, ensuring residents continue to enjoy fulfilling, active, and socially connected lives.
